Day 104, April 28

Both Ally and Ben had a good day today. Nothing really new to report right now. The day was rather uneventful, and around here, that’s a good thing.
It was a good day today. We all got up and had breakfast and played for a while. Benjamin took a long morning nap, and then was ready for the afternoon.
We went to lunch and then got shoes for both kiddos. Benjamin’s foot grew, again…his foot is the same size as Allyson’s now and he’s three years younger than she is. (Ok, he has a HUGE foot - I mean a HUGE foot, but Ally is tiny for her age and so is her foot.)
After that, we went to Jessica’s to deliver a few items to them and so the kids could play. As soon as we walked through the door, Benjamin cried - crocodile tears and all. Why, we have no idea. Maybe he thought he was going to be left there…maybe he was tired because he didn’t have an afternoon nap…who knows. I held him for a bit to love him up and then we let him cry it out. He was fine after a while. However, if either of us left the room, he’d get upset. I really think he thought we were going to leave him there for a while. We stayed through dinner. Ben fell asleep on the way home.
Ally is asleep now as well. Ahhh…now it’s my turn…
Sorry…I’m back to work full time and it is hard to keep up with the blog on a daily basis. We’re doing our best!
Yesterday, (Friday) I took Ally to get her blood drawn at Dr. Rob’s office. We didn’t get to see him, but we did get to see Dr. Bob for a few minutes. - Good news…no chemo for a whole week! NONE, zippo, nada! Not even the little crushed up pill we put into some applesauce every night. - We were in and out of the office in about twenty minutes. Very cool!
Today, the four of us went to “Planthaven”, a nursery/greenhouse not far from where we live. Our neighbors came with us too. It was awesome! Ally did not want to be in her stroller, so we parked it out front. She walked all over the place - through all the greenhouses - looking at every single flower, naming the colors. She was so happy. She LOVES to be outside and LOVES plants and flowers. She particularly loves to look at flowers with our neighbor, Gerry. Every time she’d spot a plant, she get all excited and yell, “Miss Gerry, Miss Gerry! Look at this!” I soooo wish I’d brought my camera so you all could have seen the smile that took up half of her face (that is no exaggeration)! Miss Linda thinks Ally is going to work in a greenhouse or at a nursery when she gets older. That wouldn’t surprise me one bit.
Benjamin rode on Brad’s back the whole time and had a blast. He loves to look around and grab at whatever he can get his hands on.
Both kids took naps when we got home. Brad worked in the garden, and I potted the flowers we bought. Everything looks so beautiful right now.
Today ended up being a pretty smooth day. Lisa and Benjamin were out the door by 7 and Ally and I were sitting down for breakfast. Allyson was a little off this morning but she had a good day at school. Lisa had a school function tonight so I had to pickup the kids. When I got Benjamin Tita said it was his best day this week. When we got home Allyson and Benjamin ate dinner and then Ms Gerry and Ms Linda stopped by. We all headed into the backyard to play. I put Allyson and Benjamin in the bucket swing and they had a blast. After that is was 7pm and Benjamin was ready for bed. I gave Allyson a bath and her medication and then she was off to bed.
Until tomorrow….
The day started out well until Ally Pally got sick at school. Nurse Caren called Brad around 10:00 in the morning to let him know Ally had thown up. She spent most of the morning in the nurse’s office so Caren could watch her. She was fine…went outside to play in the afternoon and got sand (the girl lives in the sandbox)in her eye. So, it was back with the nurse until Brad arrived to pick her up. - Brad called Dr. Rob…he thinks Ally may be getting sick from one of her meds. We have to watch her this week and see what happens.
Benjamin had an OK day at Tita’s. He’s into throwing fits these days if he doesn’t get his way. Apparently, he was afraid of Tita’s daughter and granddaughters today too. They came in for a visit. Benjamin ran to the playhouse and sat in it. He wouldn’t even come out for a Cheerio!
Ally was fine at home in the evening. Benjamin went to bed as soon as his bath was over. he was tired.
